wihm/day3 -Amy Steel&Friday the 13th Part2

Amy Steel is an actress who kicked some serious Jason butt in Friday the 13th Part 2!  Part 2 has a pretty simple slasher premise – a bunch of camp counsellors are getting Crystal Lake (Camp Blood) ready for the season, Jason terrorizes and murders most of them. Ginny, played by Steel, has some kind of insight into why Jason is killing and she attempts to manipulate his obviously very low IQ into not killing her.  Her character is strong, intelligent and quick thinking and she somehow saves herself (very ambiguous – which is not her fault, blame the writing) which leaves Jason free to keep hacking people up.  Amy Steel along with Adrienne King (Alice Hardy from the original Friday the 13th) brought something more to the franchise besides the usual slice & dice female character stereotypes.
